"She makes coverings for her bed ..." Proverbs 31:22
What is Nita Blankie?

I started making these Blankies for my friends about ten years ago, and they have always been a delightful and welcomed gift. My daughter's name, Allyson, is spelled with a 'y' and it's next to impossible to find anything personalized for her. The Blankie was the perfect answer and such a special keepsake.

The Blankies are embroidered with a name and a small design on the fleece side and Minkee or some other type of plush fabric for the backing. Ribbon loops are spaced around the outer edge, giving a baby something to play with or a loop to clip to a stroller so they won't fall off.

Most Blankies are approximately 30" x 30", but as each Blankie is unique, it may vary a few inches either way. You can choose the two colors YOU need for that special gift, perhaps to match the nursery. Email me at rdyefam@yahoo.com and I will be happy to work with you to make a very special gift if you 'Nita Blankie'!

Nita Blankie

I finally made time to make a "sample" blankie for those who want to see a blankie before you order one. I decided to go with the lime green and brown which is such a great color combo!!! If you would like to see a sample, just let me know! I also have gift certificates available with a tiny blankie to go with it. This works out great if you are going to a shower and don't know the name of the baby yet!

This n' That

We have been busy with fall activities at my house, so I haven't had a lot of time to post pictures of new blankies, but here are a couple of recent ones. The sports design has been really popular for the little boys. Girls are still partial to the polka dots. Brown works so well with any color - pink, lavendar, blue, green, and yellow just to name a few!!!

Hadley & Grayson

Funny thing about these two blankies made for two little ones in Jeff City - my daughter and I share the middle name of Jean like the girl blankie and I have a nephew named Grayson like the boy blankie.

This is the same cowboy hat as the purple one for the little cowgirl - just boy colors this time.

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

My kids have always loved collecting bugs and butterflies in jars, bug cages, and any container they could find with holes in it.  I still have to laugh when I think  of them searching the backyard pulling their red wagon filled with various containers and their nets hanging over their shoulders looking for the next prize find!!!

This quilt was made for a very special friend for her little boy.  May he enjoy hours of playing outside, catching bugs, and having a picnic with Mom & Dad!!!  My mom did the quilting on this special project making the bug cages and spider webs look so realistic.  She even stitched his name and birth date in the border.

Thanks Mom - you do such an awesome job and are always inspiring me!!!

This n That

A little bit of this n' that - - - a "big sister" blankie who loves dolphins (pink & pink), a "generic" girl blankie (black & pink), and a "generic" boy blankie (brown & green).  How can you go wrong with a boy blankie that reads "frogs & snails & puppy dog tails that's what little boys are made of"  ??

Pink & Green

Pink and green turned out to be a cute combination with the daisies!! My bedroom set as a little girl had the same colors in it. Funny how things do come back in style -- guess I should have hung on to the set for my little girl!!! I also saw a bedroom set with these same colors in it when I was at the mall the other day!! Fun new color combo for a blankie!!
