"She makes coverings for her bed ..." Proverbs 31:22
What is Nita Blankie?

I started making these Blankies for my friends about ten years ago, and they have always been a delightful and welcomed gift. My daughter's name, Allyson, is spelled with a 'y' and it's next to impossible to find anything personalized for her. The Blankie was the perfect answer and such a special keepsake.

The Blankies are embroidered with a name and a small design on the fleece side and Minkee or some other type of plush fabric for the backing. Ribbon loops are spaced around the outer edge, giving a baby something to play with or a loop to clip to a stroller so they won't fall off.

Most Blankies are approximately 30" x 30", but as each Blankie is unique, it may vary a few inches either way. You can choose the two colors YOU need for that special gift, perhaps to match the nursery. Email me at rdyefam@yahoo.com and I will be happy to work with you to make a very special gift if you 'Nita Blankie'!

Happy Birthday Kansas!

Kansas turns 150 years old this weekend. Although I didn't make a quilt or a blankie commemorating the event, we did make this sunflower cake. I adore the new Kansas postage stamp that has the old-time and the modern windmills on it. After sunflowers, I think the windmills are my favorite part of living in Kansas!

Sunshine

When I finished this blankie - it really made me think - SUNSHINE!!!  This was definitely a new color combo for me - although I have alway been partial to yellow.  The back of the blankie was a super soft brown with pink, green, orange, and yellow polka dots.  In the end it turned out bright and bubbly!!!

Pinks

Bright pink and light pink both work great with brown and the flowers add just the right girlie touch!

Christmas

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas is such a special time of year - what a blessing that God loved us enough to send his son to save us!!  Our tree is adorned with snow globes which make the lights really sparkle.   I couldn't resist making the snowglobe quilt after I found the border fabric.  It now adorns our church pew.  The second quilt was a little project I did for my sister's home for the Christmas season.   I hope you and your family have a very merry Christmas!
Jesus truly is the reason for the season!!

Sock Monkey

Sock monkeys are becoming popular again. This cute sock monkey design went great with the little outfit I found. Brown and red turned out to be a great color combination!!! Brown and red would also work well with a football design for a little boy!!
