"She makes coverings for her bed ..." Proverbs 31:22
What is Nita Blankie?

I started making these Blankies for my friends about ten years ago, and they have always been a delightful and welcomed gift. My daughter's name, Allyson, is spelled with a 'y' and it's next to impossible to find anything personalized for her. The Blankie was the perfect answer and such a special keepsake.

The Blankies are embroidered with a name and a small design on the fleece side and Minkee or some other type of plush fabric for the backing. Ribbon loops are spaced around the outer edge, giving a baby something to play with or a loop to clip to a stroller so they won't fall off.

Most Blankies are approximately 30" x 30", but as each Blankie is unique, it may vary a few inches either way. You can choose the two colors YOU need for that special gift, perhaps to match the nursery. Email me at rdyefam@yahoo.com and I will be happy to work with you to make a very special gift if you 'Nita Blankie'!

Boys will be Boys

This little blankie turned out really cute with the rich green and chocolate brown colors. A little boy could definitely drag this blankie behind him without

Isaac

I am so excited for baby Isaac to arrive!!!! I found the outfit at one of my favorite stores - you know the one with the red and white bulls-eye?  After I got it home I found the cutest little elephant to put on the blankie to match the outfit. Can't wait to see him in it!!! :)  If you would like a set like this, let me know soon & I'll check to see if I can still get the outfit!!  Isaac's Mommy - no peeking!!! :)

Start Your Engines

Racing has always been a big part of our family, so it was fun to make this baby blanket for a friend's little boy. I can't believe the little guy just turned one!!! Time definitely races by when you have kids!!

County Fair

Growing up I loved making bread with my grandma!! The tradition followed as I had kids and they loved making bread with "best" grandma too. She always let us play in the dough and gave us our own special pan to put our rolls in. For some reason our hot rolls didn't turn out quite as light and fluffy as hers, but we still had a great time being in the kitchen with her!! Our county fair is this week, and my kiddos spent the morning baking goodies to enter into the fair (I didn't let them play in the dough though).  I found this cute apron for my daughter and decided it would be even cuter with her name on it. If you would like one for your special girl, just let me know!!!

Summer

Summer has been a busy time for my family, but it is still fun to find time to make a cute summer wall hanging!! Being in the air conditioning sewing beats being out in the heat any day!!! Hope you are having a great summer too!!

I was so excited to try this new embroidery font with the dots!!! It did not disappoint!!! I think this may be one of my favorite fonts right now!!! The dots made for a lot of thread changes, but the cuteness was sooo worth it!!!! What do you think?

New Beginnings

I love to sew, and now that my children are getting older I found I have more time to sew and be creative!!!  Do you "Nita Blankie?" to give to that new little one?  If so, I would love to help you out!!!  Since each one of my blankies are unique, you are able to choose your own colors and what name you would like on each blankie.  Blogging is a great way to let you know what blankies and projects I am currently working on.  I hope you enjoy seeing the blankies as much as I enjoy making them!!!
